So I’m going on holiday in the next few weeks so after deciding what books would be coming with me in my suitcase I thought I would share my choices on here. I do find for summer holidays I do prefer ‘lighthearted’ contemporary reads more than fantasy or any other genre which is why my selection is so heavy on the romance side,

- The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah – I bought this recently after lending a copy to my Mum and finding out she’s now claimed it as her own after loving it so much.
- Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi – The only fantasy book I will be taking but I’m really excited to get to this, especially as it’s just been optioned to become a film and the sequel is set to be out later this year.
- The Good Luck Charm by Helena Hunting – I received this to review so long ago and I’m honestly a shambles for having not read it sooner.
- Letters To The Lost by Brigid Kemmerer- Have you ever seen a cover that scream summer read more than this?
- Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover – I used to be a massive fan of Hoover’s works involving reading everything as soon as it released, but the past few years I’ve not read anything by her and if there is anytime to refall back in love with Hoover’s works it’s summer – especially as I’m going to the same place I first read her works!
- Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally – A book that’s been on my backlist for years and this summer is the time I finally read it – especially because I’m 99% confident I’ll love this!
- I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson – I have read ‘The Sky Is Everywhere’ {you can see my review here} already by Nelson and even though it was sweet and emotional, it didn’t move me massively, but I’m hoping this one will be different!
- The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson – and what would be a summer TBR without the queen of summer contemporaries, Matson herself.
What are you going to be reading this summer? Are you participating in or hosting any challenges? Have you read any of the books I’ve listed or are planning on reading? Let me know in the comments!
I really want to read Children of Blood and Bone but I HATE reading a series that isn’t finished! Cliff-hangers drive me CRAZY. So it’s just been sitting on my shelf.
